eLearning CE: Activity 3 - Matthew Yap (16)

Traits of a leader   
-Balanced Personality
Reason: If a leader is to extreme, he will place stress on his entire group, however if he is too laid-back the group will start to stray of the task.

-Team Oriented
Reason: A leader has to take care of his own group members like one of his own family members. He also has to be able to be co-ordinate the entire group and has the "we" thinking instead of the "I".

-Just and Impartial
Reason: A leader cannot be biased against something or have prejudice, he has to be able to put all relationships aside and be focus on the task without discriminating anybody.

-Communication Skills
Reason: A leader has to be able to communicate clearly to his group to prevent room for miscommunication or misunderstanding.

-Reason/Drive
Reason: A leader must have a reason in why he is doing what he is doing. (Eg, Martin Luther King Jr. , Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi)
-Straightforward
Reason: A leader has to make correct decisions at correct times.
-Good Listener
Reason: This will allow a leader to win over the respect of his group members and also have a comfort level for his group members
-Beliefs
Reason: A leader must have his own beliefs like between what is right and wrong.
-Be ROLE Model NOT a BOSS
Reason: A leader is an example for people to emulate not for one to be bossed around. A leader is someone who leads not someone who bosses .

How does a good leader handle crises under stressful situations?
Well, I think that a good leader will be able to keep a cool head at all times during the crisis, he will also be able to co-ordinate his members to take care of the mess, he will still be able to carry out his duties as a leader and not find an easy way out of the problem, most importantly, he will take charge of the situation and will be on task while trying to relieve his members of stress.
